The Piriformis Stretch With a Partner

To do a piriformis stretch with the help of a partner, begin by lying flat on your back.  Cross your left ankle over your right knee and then lift your right leg to the ceiling.  Your partner will grab your right ankle and lift it higher and pressing it into your torso.  Hold the stretch for 20 seconds.  Now switch to the other leg and repeat the stretch for the same amount of time.

The Lying Hamstring Stretch With a Partner

Here is a hamstring stretch that is done with the help of a partner.  To start this stretch, lie on the ground on your back.  Relax your body and lift your left leg toward the ceiling.  At this point, your partner will grab your left ankle and press your leg higher, depending on your flexibility.  Your left leg should be kept straight throughout the stretch.  Hold for 20 seconds and then switch to the other leg and repeat the stretch.

The Side Stretch on a Balance Ball

Here’s a side stretch that uses a fitness ball.  To begin, locate a large exercise ball.  Sit on the ground on your right side with your legs outstretched to your left.  The right side of your torso should be resting on the ball.  Press up with your legs as you roll the ball with your body to the right so that the only part of you that is touching the ball is the side of your torso.  Hold the stretch for 20 seconds and then roll back to the floor.  Repeat this stretch on the opposite side.
